FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) Apr 09, 2010 The 12th annual Trinidaddio Blues Fest, slated for Saturday, August 28, will be the second event produced by the Trinidaddio Blues Fest, Inc., a Colorado non-profit corporation. According to Jerry Campbell, Chairman, and Neil Sexton, Entertainment Director and Founder of the Fest, one of the things that has helped Trinidaddio Blues Fest become so popular is our annual world class lineup. Even with the economy improving but dicey
we knew that we could not skimp in this key area. That is why we have, arguably our best ever lineup. You certainly would be hard pressed to find a group of performers more diverse, more decorated from the awards community, more genuine and more FUN than the lineup we are thrilled to bring to you for 2010
our 12th year!
Classic Soul Singing Doesnt Get Any Better New York Times
We are extremely proud to invite The Great Lady of Soul Bettye LaVette for her first Trinidaddio appearance. In addition to her Grammy Nomination in 2008, Bettye is nominated as the 2009 Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year at this years Blues Music Awards (the Grammys of the Blues). This is an honor that she won in 2008 as well. Did you think we were messing around with our headliner?!! Bettye performed at President Barrack Obamas inauguration. She has recently performed at the Kennedy Center in NY City as well as sharing the stage with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Her records routinely enter the blues charts at #1 and stay there
for good reason. We are truly honored to have one of the greats performing at this years Fest. Dont miss it and dont miss your chance to support it! To truly get an idea of the importance of Bettye LaVette, you need only visit her great website at www.bettyelavette.com. Bettye began her glorious career in Detroit and her band still hails from there and she is often associated with the Detroit sound even though she now makes her home in New Jersey. We are excited to have her, and for you to see and hear this soul/ blues legend at Trinidaddio XII.
The Fest of course is no one trick pony or a one-band pony for that matter! How about the Blues Music Awards, BLUES BAND OF THE YEAR for 2009 (2007 too for that matter!), from Chicago Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials! (www.liledandthebluesimperials.com/) This is Eds second trip to Trinidaddio and he rocked our world last time. Since then his already smoking hot career has kicked in to high gear with multiple television appearances and a slew of Blues Music Award nominations and wins. Of course he remains a top act on Alligator Records, arguably the number one label in blues. We still have to pinch ourselves to realize that Lil Ed will also headline the Pre-Fest show at the Lucky Monkey on Friday nite the 27th. WOW!! To say that Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials are one of the hottest, most talented and most entertaining acts in the WORLD is an understatement. To say that they will again play Trinidaddio is a fact!
Sometimes we just get lucky. Mark Hummel is a world-renowned harmonica hero and nominated (again, third year in a row!) this year for BEST HARMONICA PLAYER at the Blues Music Awards. His band the Blues Survivors come from the San Francisco Bay area where Mark and his guys rule the roost. To add to the fun, respected guitar virtuoso Rusty Zinn will join the guys as a VERY SPECIAL guest to push this set over the top. Mark and Rusty have been touring together and have a new record coming out just prior to Fest time so
be sure to look for that. Who better to play guitar with one of the best harp blowers anywhere than Zinn who has played behind the likes of Charlie Musselwhite and James Cotton to get ready for this! Youre going to want a copy of that new CD as soon as you see these cats tear up the Trinidaddio stage! This is their first time here
lets make them feel welcome! Check them out at: http://www.markhummel.com/
Were not done yet!! How about former Muddy Waters Band guitar player and 2005 & 2008 GUITAR PLAYER OF THE YEAR winner at the Blues Music Awards Steady Rollin Bob Margolin coming back for his second trip to Trinidaddio! This time around Bob is going to be here with some good friends and
great musicians! The Delta Sonics will back Bob up and Al Chesis will be blowing harp and helping this set smoke! Bob Margolin is a true pioneer of our genre and continues to thrill crowds all over the world. Come and see the man play again at Trinidaddio XII! Check out: http://www.bobmargolin.com/ for more details!
Of course, there will be many more great acts. Our own Chicago bluesman Ken Saydak (www.kensaydak.com) will bring his full band in this year
what a treat! Another Chicago act with Trinidaddio Blues Hour host and keyboard player extraordinaire (Ken has made more than 50 blues records in his illustrious career!) fronting the band with his mind-boggling keys and robust voice. Ken will also host another post fest pro-jam.
We cannot leave out Mexican Jerry and the Albuquerque Blues Connection, back for their 12th Fest, the only band to do that
and you know why! Tempa & the Tantrums (www.myspace.com/tempaandthetantrums) coming back again this year too and we cannot wait to see and hear them! (A special thanks to ABC for last years performance at the Trinidad Correctional Facility and an advance thank you to Tempa and friends for this years Sunday show!) We have our great friend Dan Treanor (www.myspace.com/dantreanorband) fresh from the International Blues Challenge in Memphis with his band Afrosippi coming back, the return of the wonderful Cordova Brothers Band featuring Johnny Watson (wow did their set rock the year before last!) and last but not least
our beloved Jaquie Gipson (www.jaquiegipson.com) will lead the Fest off again for the 12th straight time!
